This Greek Luxury Resort is Transforming into a Living Gallery

The luxury resort is set to host a ‘multi-generational dialogue’ between leading Greek female artists.
  • Luxury resort Aman Amanzoe is set to host a new summer art exhibition presented in collaboration with Zoumboulakis Galleries.
  • Entitled ‘Life Cycles‘, the activation will see an intergenerational group of leading Greek female artists exhibit their works throughout the resort from 22 May to 31 October 2026.
  • Life Cycles will integrate across Amanzoe’s spaces with sculpture installations by four acclaimed artists: Marina Karella, Alexandra Athanassiades, Nikomachi Karakostanoglou and Despina Flessa.
  • All artworks are also available for purchase directly through Zoumboulakis Galleries, or via a dedicated Amanzoe team member.

Many believe travel to be the greatest form of inspiration. Ernest Hemingway’s most profound works were born out of his time in Spain and Paris, Paul Gauguin credited his time in Tahiti for his dramatic shift in tone and, by their very nature, the Grand Tours of the 17th and 18th centuries spurred much of the neoclassical art that we admire today. It’s true, art and travel are invariably joined at the hip, but an ongoing initiative from luxury property group Aman is seeking to bring them even closer.

Amanzoe, the hotelier’s Greek outpost, has announced it will house a new summer art exhibition presented in collaboration with Zoumboulakis Galleries. From 22 May to 31 October 2026, the beach-fringed Peloponnese property will be transformed into a living gallery space, adorned with a series of profound, locally-oriented works. Entitled ‘Life Cycles’, the exhibition champions an intergenerational group of Greek female artists whose work draws from traditional Mediterranean iconography and design motifs. Moreover, it marks a world-first.

For the first time ever, the exhibition will bring together the work of Marina Karella, Alexandra Athanassiades, Nikomachi Karakostanoglou and Despina Flessa in a joint presentation. The rare collaboration explores continuity and evolution across varying mediums, with each artwork seamlessly blending into the property’s existing design.

In the library and adjoining terrace, Marina Karella will showcase a series of sculptures that represent light, shadow and drapery, a reference to the enduring symbols of the Grecian aesthetic. Across the lavender garden, you’ll find sculptures from Alexandra Athanassiades’ Armour and Horses series. Known for her hand-hammered forms, Athanassiades work examines the ”interplay between inner identity and outward expression”, utilising layered compositions to mirror the inevitable passing of time.

On the poolside terrace, Nikomachi Karakostanoglou’s marble works, Sacred Vessels, evoke ancient votive forms, playing on the themes of memory and regeneration, while Despina Flessa’s aluminium sculptures offer poetic reflections on ”what is preserved, rediscovered and reimagined” across generations.

According to Aman, the exhibition won’t be the only activation taking place this summer. The hotel group has confirmed a considered programme of activations will be rolled out, inviting guests to ”encounter art as part of their lived experience”, rather than within a traditional gallery setting. While that might sound a little on the nose, there is merit to the process.

Amanzoe is offering guests the opportunity to learn from the artists firsthand, introducing a series of ‘Meet the Artist’ sessions, as well as guided tours through some of the most important vestiges in the Greek art community. All artworks are also available for purchase directly through Zoumboulakis Galleries, or via a dedicated Amanzoe team member.

Amanzoe’s ‘Life Cycles’ exhibition is presented in collaboration with Zoumboulakis Galleries and will run from 22 May to 31 October 2026. The luxury property is located on a private Peloponnese peninsula and features architecture by the late Edward Tuttle.
