- Luxury hospitality group Aman has announced Amansanu, its first-ever ranch retreat, will open in Texas Hill Country.
- The upcoming property is located around 90 minutes from Austin and comprises series of standalone pavilions that sit alongside a limited collection of fully-serviced Aman-branded residences.
- The resort will also feature racquet-sports courts and extensive hiking trails, alongside Aman’s first fully serviced stables.
- Amansanu will join a growing pipeline of Aman destinations across the Americas, including Amanvari in Summer 2026, Aman Miami Beach, Aman Beverly Hills, and Amancaya in The Bahamas.
Perched between the rolling hills and sculpted canyons of Texas Hill Country, a new oasis beckons. At Amansanu, luxury hotel group Aman’s first-ever ranch retreat, vivid natural wonders meet modern luxury in a striking clash of beauty and vastness. In this place, where shifting light and seasonal colours animate the skyline, the theatre of nature plays an endless performance. Squint hard enough and you might think you’ve wandered into an Ansel Adams photograph.
Derived from the Sanskrit words meaning “peaceful peak,” the upcoming property captures a rarely-seen side of the Lone Star state. The Texas Hill Country region is renowned for its rapidly changing terrain, which sweeps from towering granite uplifts and limestone plateaus to wildflower-lined trails and winding creeks. Amansanu, which is located around 90 minutes from the thriving urban hub of Austin, brings those natural elements to the forefront.

Aman’s ranch-retreat hotel features a series of standalone pavilions that sit alongside a limited collection of fully-serviced Aman-branded residences. Designed by architectural practice Olson Kundig, the resort is described as a contemporary expression of the regional vernacular.
The pavilions are shaped by the landscape itself with structures positioned to follow the natural contours of the land, capturing unobstructed panoramic views stretching across vast valleys and rugged canyons. According to Aman, each vantage point was carefully considered to offer ”profound feelings of seclusion, privacy and connection to nature”.
”Complementing the resort experience will be a limited collection of Aman-branded residences, each set within expansive hillside sites starting at ten acres,” Aman wrote. ”Designed in harmony with the resort’s architectural vision, the residences feature open-plan living spaces, natural materials and expansive terraces that connect seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, ensuring exceptional privacy and uninterrupted views.”
At the heart of the retreat sits the main lodge, an inviting anchor that offers communal spaces for guests and access to alfresco lounging and fireside seating. In a way, it feels like an elevated approach to modern outdoor living, taking glamping to a level never before seen.
You get all the benefits of being out in the open, with the added backing of world-class dining, stunning accommodation and access to the internationally recognised Aman Spa and Wellness Centre. Beyond that, Amansanu will also offer Aman’s first fully serviced stables. Designed to present an elevated interpretation of the contemporary ranch experience, this offering allows guests to tackle exclusive horse-riding trails across the surrounding terrain.

When it opens, Amansanu will mark the luxury accommodation brand’s sixth property in North America, following the announcement of Amangiri in Utah Canyon Country, as well as Aman Miami Beach, Aman Beverly Hills, and Amancaya in The Bahamas. As Vlad Doronin, chairman and CEO of Aman Group, revealed, the United States remains the land of opportunity and, with some of the most remarkable landscapes on Earth, is tailor-made for the brand’s sophisticated style of natural luxury.
”Aman’s presence in the United States, with Amangiri, Amangani and Aman New York, reflects our focus on creating rare sanctuaries in destinations defined by natural beauty and cultural depth,” Doronin said. ”Texas Hill Country embodies these qualities, with rolling landscapes and an independent spirit which aligns closely with Aman’s philosophy. Amansanu represents a meaningful evolution for Aman in the Americas, introducing a new expression of the brand while preserving the peace, privacy and connection to its surroundings that defines each of our destinations.”
While there is no specific timeline for when Amansanu is slated to open, the property is already in development. More importantly, Amansanu is set to introduce a refined expression of Aman, leading a ”new generation” of forthcoming projects, testing a new frontier for luxury and nature.
