Some people have a birthday party, others like to indulge in a weekend away, but seminal watchmaker Breguet has turned 2025 into a year-long celebration of craftsmanship. Over the last 12 months, the legendary maison has dropped not one, but six remarkable limited editions, each paying homage to a different element of the brand’s esteemed 250-year long history.
From the space-inspired Marine Hora Mundi 5555 to the GPHG award-winning Classique Souscription 2025, Breguet has managed to tastefully blend tradition and modernity in a way that feels entirely befitting of founder Abraham-Louis Breguet’s original vision. To close out the 250th birthday celebrations, Breguet has unveiled arguably its most impressive new release, announcing the Classique Répétition Minutes 7365.

Breguet Classique Répétition Minutes 7365
At an intimate event at Place Vendôme in Paris, just a stone’s throw from the Quai de l’Horloge, where Abraham Louis Breguet opened his first workshop in 1775, Breguet CEO Gregory Kissling unveiled the latest anniversary model.
The Classique Répétition Minutes 7365 is a stunning example of the maison’s house style and what’s more, represents the only minute repeater wristwatch produced for the brand’s 250th anniversary. That, in itself, is worth noting.
In 1783, Breguet famously introduced the flat circular gong spring, an innovation that enabled a more streamlined construction and clearer sound for chiming mechanisms. That development paved the way for future repeater complications and now, more than 240 years on, Kissling and Co. are celebrating the contribution with an entirely new movement.

Calibre 1896 Movement
Crucially, the latest timepiece is powered by the calibre 1896, an all-new movement that replaces the long-serving 567.2. Described as the ‘first water-resistant minute repeater ever created by Breguet’, this stunning innovation is crafted from 18K Breguet gold and offers a 75-hour power reserve, courtesy of an optimised gear train, escapement and barrel.
According to the brand, the frequency of its balance wheel has been increased to 3 Hz, or 21,600 vibrations per hour, improving the overall precision, stability and accuracy of the timepiece. Calibre 1896 is also equipped with a silicon escapement for anti-magnetic properties and, in a nod to the founder’s incredible history, features a motif inspired by 18th-century Paris that is entirely hand-engraved.
The upper part of the movement reproduces a view of the Quai de l’Horloge; a district of Paris located on the Île de la Cité, the historic heart of the City of Light. The intricate engravings depict the vibrant façades, banks, and even the Pont-Neuf, which connects it to both banks of the Seine, flowing peacefully in the foreground.
Each piece is hand-engraved with its individual number and marked with the Breguet hallmark on the balance bridge. It will be delivered in an individually numbered case, inspired by the red Moroccan leather cases used by Breguet at the time and designed especially to celebrate the brand’s 250th anniversary.

Design
Innovation and craftsmanship aside, the Classique Répétition Minutes 7365 also continues Breguet’s incredible legacy and streamlined design. Since taking over the reins in October last year, CEO Gregory Kissling has helped to reignite a profound return to traditional aesthetic, far removed from the clunky over-complicated designs that often characterise multi-functional calibres. The latest release is perhaps the most obvious example of Breguet’s straightforward yet sophisticated design language.
The new timepiece is slimmer than the brand’s other minute repeaters, moving from a 42mm design to sleeker, more streamlined 39mm. Of course, you’ll still find the typical guilloché middle, hollowed-out
apple-shaped hands, grand feu enamel dial, and applied Breguet numerals on the dial, but this model does feel innately more contemporary. You can likely chalk this up to the refined ergonomics, which employ the same integrated lugs and a softly curved profile that we saw on the Souscription 2025 earlier this year.

Pricing and Availability
In many ways, the Classique Répétition Minutes 7365 feels like the culmination of Breguet’s year-long celebration; a closing chapter that outshines even the most impressive anniversary pieces that preceded it. By revisiting one of watchmaking’s most poetic innovations and reimagining it through a contemporary lens, Breguet has crafted a watch that keeps one foot in the past and one foot firmly moving forward.
The timepiece is limited to 25 pieces worldwide, and while you could argue it’s difficult to put a price tag on legacy, Breguet has done precisely that. The Classique Répétition Minutes 7365 starts from a staggering AUD$509,600; a steep price to pay for the casual admirer, but to the Breguet fanatic, it’s a rare opportunity to hold a piece of history in their hands.
